Hi!  I am Mrs. Solt.
This is my third year teaching at Literacy First Charter School, and I am so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful team of people.  LFCS is a special place where students are known and cared for inside and outside of the classroom.
When people ask me where I am from, I usually say "everywhere".  My father was in the Air Force, so I grew accustomed to moving every few years.  I went to nine different schools from preschool through high school graduation.  My experiences of moving frequently has shaped me and helped me to appreciate different cultures and places.
I attended California Baptist University in Riverside, CA for my BS in Mathematics and completed my credential program there as well.  This will be my 10th year teaching math.  I taught in Riverside county for 5 years before moving to San Diego when I married my husband who lived here in San Diego.  I have taught 7th and 8th grade math as well as some honors math courses in the past.
I am married to my husband who is recently has gotten out of the US Navy and is pursuing going to school to become a Physician's Assistant.  We enjoy board games, cooking, baking, and being involved in our church.  I also love anything Disney, the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, anything coconut flavored, coffee, chocolate, puzzles, crafts, and of course... MATH!
I appreciate the aspect of problem solving in math.  It is a process that takes time and it is worth the hard work when you get to the end!  There are so many neat math connections in our world.  Math is beautiful, creative, and complex.  It's everywhere!  I look forward to digging in to the depths of math this year with our 7th graders.
